I thought it would be a great idea if I did a post on the Dollar Tree's top 10 Weight Watchers Freestyle friendly foods. In the past, I did a post on the top 10 edible products to buy at the Dollar Tree when cash is tight. It's been one of my most pinned posts. If you would like to read it, you can find it here . Nature's Own Butter Bread – 2 slices for 3 Points
If you have not had this bread yet, you don't know what you are missing. Since beginning Weight Watchers Freestyle, I was buying Sara Lee 45 Calorie Bread. So if I had a sandwich, it cost me 2 points for 2 slices. However, the down side of eating this bread is that, to me, it does not taste good not toasted. I do not like the texture at all. So I was toasting it to eat with my tuna, egg or chicken salad sandwiches. But recently Publix had a BOGO sale on Nature's Own Butter Bread so I used the Weight Watchers app and was ecstatic to see it was just 3 points for 2 slices. So, I bought two loaves. I was in the Dollar Tree the other day and to my delight, I seen the Nature's Own Butter Bread on their shelf! So guess who bought 4 loaves and is happy to not have to toast her bread all the time? This gal!
Jennie-O Turkey Burger 85/15 – 1 Ground Turkey Burger for 6 Points
These turkey burgers by Jennie-O are perfectly portioned for convenience. They come shrink wrapped in a package so you can just pop in the microwave at work and they come in a good sized 1/4 lb patty.
Sweet Mate Sugar Substitute (Generic Sweet n Low) – 0 Points
Believe me when I say that I can almost always detect the difference between a store brand and a popular brand, but not with this sweetener. What makes it even "sweeter" is the fact that you get 100 packets for $1.00/box as compared to Walmart.com's price of $8.59 for 300 packets of Sweet 'n Low brand.
Snyder's Mini Pretzels Value Bag – 1 Bag for 1 Point
Keep this bag in your car for when you need a quick snack or need something to go with lunch. You get 8 bags for $1.00 and each bag is just 1 point.
Munch Rights Veggie Puffs – 40 Puffs for 4 Points – Compare to Veggie Straws
I love Sensible Portions Veggie Straws and I usually buy the 6 count box at Publix when it's on sale. Currently the price is $5.79 for 6 – 1 ounce bags. That's expensive to me. The total weight is basically 6 ounces in total. But did you know that for the same points value, you can buy Munch Rights Veggie Puffs at the Dollar Tree? And you get 40 puffs for 4 points – which technically is 2 more puffs compared to straws. But the part that wins me over is that one bag of Munch Right Veggie Puffs is $1 for 3.5 ounces. That's a win for me – and they are delicious.
Snack Factory Pretzel Crisps – 10/11 Crisps for 3 Points
My local Publix sells Snack Factory Pretzel Crisps (usually as a BOGO) at a price of $3.49 each. But the Dollar Tree sells them for $1.00/bag. Need I say more?
Pampa Extra Long Asparagus Spears – 0 Points
Pampa brand foods is sold on Walmart.com for $2.28. At the Dollar Tree it is just $1.00 for the same size. And believe me when I say they are delicious! Have you seen the price of frozen asparagus? When my local Publix has a BOGO sale on the frozen or canned vegetables – they explicitly note that asparagus is NOT included in the sale. Dollar Tree to the rescue.
Chicken of the Sea & StarKist Tuna in Water – 0 Points
Since tuna in water is now one of the 0 point foods on Weight Watchers Freestyle, load up. One can is $1.00 at the Dollar Tree.
Camillio's 7 Inch Pizza Crust – 1 Entire Pizza Crust is 8 Points
This is such a delicious crust. I bought this even before joining Weight Watchers. If you use 0 point Spaghetti Sauce, Kraft Fat Free Mozzarella and roasted onions and mushrooms, you can have a nice 8 point lunch that is filling and delicious. And at a $1.00 for 2 crusts – makes it even better.
Sugar Free Snack Pack Juicy Gels – 0 Points
Previously I was buying Jell-0 brand sugar free gelatin for my snacks, but at just $1.00 at the Dollar Tree, these Juicy-Gels are just as tasty and come in packs of 4 with 2 different flavors to eat.
